House of Paula and Edmund Röggl

The house of the engineer Edmund Röggl was built in the year 1932 by the main public space of the Bezovka villa neighbourhood, also called the Great Star. The client moved there from a rented house at no. 1 Českých Bratří Square. He commissioned the project for himself and his wife Paula to be built by the Pilsen builders Otakar Prokop and Eduard Chrudimský, who also lived on the same square. The unspectacular but elegant building catches one’s attention with a mansard roof and bare brick masonry in belts next to the ground floor windows. The remaining parts of the facade are still fitted with the original ingrained Brizolit plaster. Building alterations took place mainly in the garden of the house – a garage and a brick shed were built in the second half of the last century and a prefab booth in the 1990s, originally intended for the sale of fruits and vegetables.
